Teams from Calderdale Explorers Basketball Under 14 Development Squad took part at a 3x3 Competition at Newsome Academy in the Under 14 category in Huddersfield today with some great performances all around .

3x3 Basketball is a variation of basketball , played 3 a side , with only one backboard and in a half court set up . The game originated from being played on the streets and gyms but is now recognised by all of the sports governing bodies with formalised rules with the Great Britain team winning Gold ( Mens) and Silver (Women) at the last Commonwealth games . Traditionally teams consist of 4 players including 1 sub with 3 players on court.

Team 2 (Owen, Jacob & Joshua ) took second place in the competition with Team 1 ( Harry, Olly, Freddie & Josh) placing a respectable third. Well done to all who took part and our continued thanks to the parents who facilitate their participation and provide wonderful support .
