When Queensbury Hawks made the decision to align with Calderdale Explorers it was hoped this would bring new blood to the squad and also allow for running a second team alongside the first team both competing in Leeds League Basketball . As we reach the end of the season this has proved to be a success with Calderdale Hawks 2 competing all fixtures and finishing fifth in Leeds League Division 4 and therefore gaining 5th seed in the end of season playoffs. It was also hoped that players who had previously been involved in Calderdale Explorers would see this is an opportunity to return and compete for the club . Six of the current Hawks 2 squad have had previously involvement with Calderdale Explorers Juniors so the hope is that Hawks will become a pathway for Junior players progressing into the Adult game .
