During September and October 2024 the experienced coaching team at Calderdale Explorers will be delivering Basketball England's Slam Jam program designed to give 7 to 11 years old and introduction to Basketball.

The programme is designed to provide a great first experience to the sport in a fun, safe and engaging atmosphere. Slam Jam not only focuses on basketball related activity, but it also aims to improve the physical literacy and fundamentals of movement for all participants. We hope that everyone who finishes the programme will want to continue their basketball experience and make it a sport for life. Slam Jam is packed with fun basketball games, rewards and gives children a great way to learn the basic skills of the game. The sessions will be held at North Halifax Grammar School .

The sessions will be run by the coaching team who have run Calderdale Explorers Junior section and have a well established Junior sections covering age groups from 8 to 16 years of age which have delivered weekly sessions for the past 6 years . Although there is no obligation to join the Juniors program once the Slam Jam program has completed it does provide an easy transition if your child wishes to continue.
